Through the Atlanta Regional Commission, CobbRides also offers the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program FREE to employers and their employees. The GRH program keeps employees who are using commute options from getting stranded. If you and your employer join CobbRides, and you are using an alternative such as CarPooling, VanPooling, Transit, Biking, or Walking to get to work, a taxi can be called, or a 24 hour car rental arranged, in the event of an eligible emergency. We can put you in a van for as little as $60* per month, including gas! That can be up to an 80% discount on the actual cost of your van seat!

Use your calculator and ask yourself WHY you are not already VanPooling!

VanPooling is an ideal option for those who commute from longer distances that are not served by rail or bus. A VanPool is a group of 10-15 commuters who ride to and from work together each day in a comfortable passenger van. The drivers are members of the VanPool who volunteer to drive and to be responsible for collecting the monthly fees from the riders. For taking on this responsibility, the driver rides for free.

VanPooling may be a good fit for you if you live 15 miles or more from your worksite, e.g., Union City to TSYS.

Vendors in the region provide the vehicle, insurance and the maintenance. Then, since CobbRides will "buy down" the cost from the top, each rider pays as little as $60* per month, and CobbRides pays for the gas!

The cost of your monthly ride, without the discounts provided by CobbRides, the Town Center Area Community Improvement District, and The Clean Air Campaign, could be as much as $250. This could represent a savings of up to $200 per month or $2400 annually! Where else do you receive an 80% discount? And, that is in addition to your savings immediately incurred when you leave your car at home!

Currently, the easiest way to join a VanPool is by forming one at your worksite. There may be people who work with you that live near you and are also looking for a commute solution.

When you've found a group of interested co-workers, contact CobbRides and a member of our outreach team can meet with you and take care of all the details.

Or, you can talk to your boss. By offering a VanPooling program, employers can take advantage of the federal Commuter Choice tax provision that benefits both employers and employees. If you and your employer sign up for the Guaranteed Ride Home program, you will be eligible for a complimentary taxi ride, or 24 hour rental car, if you have an emergency, and it's free for your employer as well.
